CHILE/ARGENTINA – After 5 months of travel and missing family, Kaspers brother came to Santiago to visit us. It was so exiting to pick him up from the airport! The day before we slept close to the airport, listening to all the airplanes flying over, knowing early in the morning Borris is sitting in one. Then he was finally there! And after a lot of hugs and kisses it felt like he has never been missed and was always there with us!

And what we find in his big backpack!! Yes a big dutch cheese, peanut butter, licorice and more delicious dutch food and spices. So our home was more home then ever. Family, food and love, what else do you need in life…

So lets make a plan! First we just want to chill, drove to a camping and made a big asado (barbecue) and talk a lot! After that we went road tripping. We drove up west along the coast, passed the highest pass of the Andes (agua negro pass) it’s 4750 meters high! Beautiful, but it makes us dizzy, bleh! Quickly we went lower to Argentina. And Argentina means meat, not just meat but MEAT, so more asado! We found more nice spots in the middle of nowhere where we camped and made big fires. And as a grand finale we went back to Chile for some city tripping in colorful Valparaiso. Oh no! Time fly’s, only two more days. So we relaxed in a national park outside Santiago (and had our traditional ‘Sushi in far away places with Borris’). Next, the airport again.

Wow what a hurricane. But all this beauty can not compare with the most important topic. The brother love. Just being together! And not only brother love, but also the love between a little boy and his uncle. And of course me who loves Borris so much. It makes us so happy and alive.

After Borris left, we felt so sad. The question “Why are we here?” came up again. Love can also be painful. But I like Kaspers mom reaction “It’s sweet pain and it’s beautiful that you can feel it”.

We decide to go to a sweet family in Santiago we met before on a camping. They welcomed us with huge open arms…. this story will be continued…
